SLR15 Rifle Specs - Extractor/Extraction System
The SLR15 Rifle is customized for endurance, reliability and dependability. We know your life depends on your rifle working when it should. With this in mind, we designed the following upgrades and enhancements from standard rifles to SLR15 Extraction System.
Bolts
On the left is the industry standard bolt with the 3 piece ring with the gap. The bolt on the right, from the SLR15 Rifle, has a one piece ring with no gap, along with the chrome extractor.
The rest of the SLR15 enhancements are internal.
Nickled Extractor
This is a signature mark of the SLR15. The nickled extractor is harder than other extractors. This allows more wear and tear on an extractor, meaning it has more wear life and will be more reliable.
Heavy Duty Extractor Spring
We use a heavy duty extractor spring to add more tension to the extractor.
Black Heavy Duty Extractor Spring Insert
We use a black heavy duty extractor spring insert, which is denser and stiffer than the standard issue blue ones. This insert keeps the extractor spring more in line during compression and expansion, and helps add more tension to the extractor, thus making extraction more positive and reliable.
Quad Ring (Black Ring)
The quad ring rides on the outside of the extractor spring. It helps keep the extractor spring in line during compression and expansion. As well as add more tension to the extractor; this makes a more positive extraction and makes the weapon more reliable.
Extraction Assembly
This image shows the standard extraction assembly on the bottom, and the SLR15 extraction assembly is shown on the top.
The SLR extraction assembly includes a nickle plated extractor, heavy duty extraction spring, black extraction spring buffer guide (heavy duty) and the quad ring.
Gas Ring
We use a one piece gas ring for SLR15 Rifle Levels 2 and 3. Level 1 SLR15 Rifles use a three piece gas ring.
The one piece gas ring makes the unlocking of the bolt more reliable during cycling operation.
It helps the gas bleed through the gas ring more consistent with no leakage in theory, thus again making cycling more reliable.
